recording and production history

Whilst developing in the field of songwriting and arranging, ibby had the overwhelming urge to record almost every noise he made and almost certainly everything he wrote.  Like so many, he got to grips with simple recording techniques on a Tascam 4 track tape machine.  Using such course methods as recording the built in drum beats on his (non midi) Casio keyboard as a foundation for the recordings of many of his extensive list of self composed songs.
Upgrades came slowly, the first being a replacement for the Casio keyboard drum beats, in the form of 'Music Creation' for the Playstation.  with this piece of software, ran on no more than at the time a £50 game console, the possibilities seemed endless in the production of drumbeats, which were still at the time being recorded on the fore mentioned Tascam. This lead to many hours sat in front of a TV screen with a games controller to input the drum patterns for more solo and Bar 9 (see bands and collaborations).
This was a major turning in the direction of things, when still using the Music creation for then Playstation software, the dawning of the realization of the depth of possibilities of computer assisted music.
The PC came next, removing the need for the Playstation (at least as a tool for creating anything productive). This also demoted the 4 track to the new essential role of input mixer to the built in multi-duplex sound card on board the Pentium 3 PC.

After many more, small but significant upgrades, Ibby is now fluent in the production of a variety of music ranging from purely electronic to full stripped down acoustic and everywhere in between.
